Beginning of September, Melbourne hosts a unique running event featuring world famous runners. Adventure Runner Richard Bowles, who covered 10,000 km and more on trail running with SOURCE Hydration, will be hosting the event and we’re very happy to be there, also offering a 20% discount to convention visitors.

Melbourne is the running mecca of Australia, with physical and mental health being the real winners. The Victorian Running Network’s Tim Crosbie says one of the most beneficial aspects of the sport is the general improvement in lifestyle for participants. “They tend to eat more healthily, they lose weight and they give up bad habits in order to perform at a better level each week.”

ARC14 comprises a full day of 4 seminars in a chat-show style hosted by Trail Runner Magazine editor Chris Ord and 7 workshops. Topics include Physiotherapy, Sports Psychology, Coaching, Run Technique, Yoga, Strength, Meals On The Run, How to Take Cool Running Photos Using Your Mobile Phone and other unique sessions to support runners of all types and levels!

The feature session, ‘Fight or Flight’ sees Runner’s World Magazine editor Lisa Homes interview 4 inspirational runners who have overcome adversity through running, including Tristan Miller (52 Marathons in 52 weeks), Kelly Hetherington (Olympic hopeful and 2013 Australian 800m champion), Brendan Davies (AU Ultra Runner of the Year 2012) and NZ ½ Marathon champion Oska Inkster-Baynes.

Richard Bowles hosting the ‘new kid on the block’
SOURCE Hydration Athlete Richard Bowles, Melbourne’s record-breaking adventure runner, often compared to a hybrid of Bear Grylls and Forrest Gump, will be MC and host of the ARC14. He says: “ARC14 is the new kid on the block but slots in perfectly with Melbourne’s other prestigious running events such as Run 4 The Kids and Melbourne Marathon. It’s exciting to be part of an event that brings runners together in such a supportive, non-competitive event, where beginner runners are rubbing shoulders with world record holders, and ultra-marathoners”.

ARC14 will be attended by Pat Farmer (Pole to Pole and recent Middle East Peace Run) and Pink Mum “Janet” from season 8 Biggest Loser Australia. An extensive expo of local and interstate running companies, events, groups and clubs will offer guests the opportunity to seek out information on the very best products and services available. The main event partner is Flight Centre Active Travel. Healthy food options will be provided all day within the venue.
